Salman Agha’s All-Round Brilliance Helps Pakistan Crush Australia by 90 Runs, Seal T20 Series

Pakistan produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Australia by a massive 90-run margin in the second T20I, taking an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-match series. As part of their preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026, the hosts made full use of home conditions to outplay the visitors in every department.

After winning the toss, Pakistan posted an imposing total of 198 for 5 in their 20 overs. Captain Salman Agha led from the front with a superb knock of 76 off just 40 balls, smashing eight fours and four sixes. He was well supported by Usman Khan, who scored a brisk 53 off 36 balls, registering his second half-century against Australia. The partnerships between Agha and Usman gave Pakistan complete control of the innings and set up a daunting target.

In reply, Australia’s chase never really took off as they collapsed against Pakistan’s spin attack. Chasing 199, the visitors were bowled out for just 108, struggling to cope with the guile and accuracy of the home spinners. Abrar Ahmed starred with figures of 3 for 14, while experienced all-rounder Shadab Khan picked up 3 for 26, taking his tally to 118 wickets in T20 internationals. Saim Ayub provided an early breakthrough by dismissing the dangerous Travis Head for just four runs, leaving Australia in deep trouble. Cameron Green was the only batter to offer resistance, top-scoring with 35.

Despite the heavy defeat, Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa achieved a personal milestone by dismissing Babar Azam once again. It was the fifth time in T20 internationals that Zampa has got the better of the former Pakistan captain, reducing Babar’s average against him to just 15.6.

Pakistan’s emphatic victory underlined their strength on spin-friendly pitches and highlighted the growing balance in the team under Salman Agha’s leadership. Beating a strong side like Australia so convincingly will boost Pakistan’s confidence ahead of the World Cup. With the series already sealed, the third and final match now remains only a formality, as Pakistan aim for a clean sweep.
