Apple iPhone 17 Pro Series Launched: Prices, Features, and Availability in India and Globally

 


Apple launched the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max on Tuesday at its Awe Dropping event. Alongside these, the company also unveiled the standard iPhone 17 and a new Air model. As expected, the new iPhone 17 Pro series is powered by the A19 Pro chip for performance, and both devices run on iOS 26. The successors to the iPhone 16 Pro series come equipped with an advanced cooling system and support for Apple Intelligence.

In the U.S., the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 (around ₹96,900) for the 256GB base variant, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced from $1,199 (around ₹1,05,000). Both models are also available in 512GB and 1TB storage options.

Price & Color Options in India

In India, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at ₹1,34,900, whereas the iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced from ₹1,49,900. The devices will be available in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver color variants.

Pre-order & Sale Dates

Pre-orders for the iPhone 17 Pro models began on September 12, with global sales commenced from September 19.

iPhone 17 Pro & iPhone 17 Pro Max Specifications and Features

This year, the Pro models arrive with an aluminum build, unlike previous Pro models that featured a titanium frame. Interestingly, the new Air model now comes with titanium.

The iPhone 17 Pro also becomes the first iPhone to feature a vapor chamber cooling system. It has a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120Hz, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers the same features on a larger 6.9-inch display. Both support 3,000 nits peak brightness and are protected by Ceramic Shield 2.

Powering the devices is Apple’s most advanced A19 Pro chipset, which the company claims delivers up to 40% faster performance compared to its predecessor. It comes with a 6-core CPU and a 6-core GPU.

In terms of cameras, both phones sport a triple rear setup: a 48MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide sensor, and a new 48MP telephoto lens (a big jump from the 12MP telephoto on the previous Pro). Apple notes the telephoto sensor is 56% larger and supports 8x optical zoom and 40x digital zoom. On the front, there’s an 18MP selfie camera for photography and video calls.

The iPhone 17 Pro lineup runs on iOS 26, which integrates Apple Intelligence features such as live translation in Messages, FaceTime, and Phone apps.

As for battery, Apple claims the iPhone 17 Pro Max delivers the “best battery life” ever on an iPhone, with support for fast charging that can refill 50% in just 20 minutes.
