FrenchOpen25 : Alcaraz , Sinner breeze through to semis with dazzling tennis
Carlos Alcaraz delivered a dominant performance in the Roland Garros quarterfinals on Tuesday, dispatching Tommy Paul with a commanding 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 victory in just 94 minutes. The Spaniard credited rival Jannik Sinner as a source of motivation behind his inspired display.
Under the lights of Court Philippe Chatrier, the defending French Open champion left little room for resistance from the former world No. 9, securing a spot in the semifinals against Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti.
Musetti, seeded No. 8, earned his place in the final four earlier in the day by defeating American Frances Tiafoe in four sets.
Friday’s semifinal will be the third clay-court encounter between Alcaraz and Musetti this season. Alcaraz holds a 2–0 edge, having beaten the Italian in both the Monte Carlo final and the Rome semifinal en route to those titles.
Meanwhile , Jannick Sinner is making a powerful statement on the red clay of Roland Garros. He has just won his semi final showdown against the tall Alexander Bublik in a breeze . Sinner routed Bublik 6-1 , 7-5 , 6-1 to storm into the semis where he awaits the winner of Djokovic vs Zverev clash
Though all of his Grand Slam titles so far have come on hard courts, the Italian star has been in commanding form at this year’s French Open, not dropping a single set so far. Earlier In the fourth round, he breezed past Andrey Rublev in straight sets, winning 6-1, 6-3, 6-4.
This marks Sinner’s third appearance in the French Open quarterfinals. He won both the Australian Open and US Open last year, and started this season with a win at the Australian Open. Remarkably, since last year’s US Open, Sinner has not lost a single match in Grand Slam tournaments—stringing together 18 consecutive victories. Only Boris Becker and Andre Agassi had previously achieved such a streak.
Against Rublev on Monday night, Sinner needed just 30 minutes to clinch the first set, asserting complete control from the outset. Rublev had no answers to Sinner’s relentless precision and aggression, failing to pose any real resistance.
