Man Loses Rs 3.43 Lakh from Bank A/c with Zero Balance in Bizarre Fraud
In a shocking case, Kamlesh Kumar, a resident of a village in Bihar’s Jamui district under the Jhajha police station, reported that a total of Rs 3.43 lakh was fraudulently withdrawn from his bank account, which previously had no funds.
Kumar informed the police and demanded immediate action. He explained that his mobile phone was stolen, and soon after, the unauthorized transaction was made from his account.
The incident occurred on August 5, while Kumar was returning home on the Raxaul-Howrah Mithila Express train. As the train arrived at Jhajha railway station, two to three men snatched his phone. Kumar immediately reported the theft to the Jhajha Government Railway Police (GRP) before returning home. Kumar, who works as a driver in Bardhaman, West Bengal, stated that there was no significant balance in his account at the time.
A few days later, after purchasing a new phone, Kumar logged into his bank account using his email. While reviewing his bank statement for September, he was shocked to discover the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.43 lakh. He has since called for swift police action to resolve the matter.
